And the young Fisherman went down into the market-place (и молодой Рыбак отправился на рыночную площадь), and he walked slowly (он шел медленно), and with bowed head (с поникшей головой; to bow — кланяться, bowed — согнутый), as one who is in sorrow (словно в печали: «как тот, кто в печали»).

The Priest telleth me (Священник говорит мне; telleth = tells) that the soul is worth all the gold in the world (что душа стоит всего золота мира), and the merchants say (а купцы говорят) that it is not worth a clipped piece of silver (что она не стоит и ломанного гроша).' And he passed out of the market-place (и он пошел дальше с рыночной площади), and went down to the shore of the sea (и пошел к берегу моря), and began to ponder (и начал раздумывать/обдумывать; to begin (began, begun)) on what he should do (что же ему следует предпринять).
